Deuteronomy 12 and 13
Moses is looking off to the future, seeing the path to the Promised Land, and strategizing the best plays. Like any good coach, he goes over some new plays to win the game because no matter what the new opposition brings, the Israelites still need to play according to God’s rules to win.
HAYLEY’S BIBLE BENDER:
The Bible bender for me came through all the various ways Susan reminded us that lessons for Israel still apply to us today. For example, these chapters point out various ways temptation could come to Israel; that is true for us too. We, too, can easily fall prey to false idols. Our false idols are usually much more subtle that actual false idols in Israel’s time. It leads to a slow creep that can cause a huge chasm in our loving the Lord with all our heart, soul, and strength.
