Deuteronomy 22, 23, and 24

HAYLEY’S BIBLE BENDER:
An interesting point Susan made in Deuteronomy 22 was the comparison of fidelity in marriage to fidelity with God. She brings up how Paul makes this comparison in 1 Corinthians 6:12, “‘ I have the right to do anything,’ you say but not everything is beneficial….Do you know know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, ‘The two will become one flesh. But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.” Bottom line: be faithful to your spouse and faithful to God.
Do you often consider how fidelity in marriage is similar to fidelity with God? Do you put equal importance on both? Both are not be taken lightly as both are covenants. Do you need to shift your perspective after considering Paul’s words?
