Leviticus 1, 2, and 3:

Back to law school we go, starting in Leviticus 1! In today’s episode, we dive deep into the various rituals that Moses laid out for the Israelites to ensure that they could live in God’s holy presence. The offerings such as the burnt, grain, and fellowships offerings served as a physical symbol and reminder of the sin that needed to be atoned before meeting with God.

HAYLEY’S BIBLE BENDER:

My Bible bender for this section of Leviticus centered on the fellowship offering. The fellowship offering was to confirm the offeror’s covenant relationship with God by sharing a meal. My a-ha moment came when Susan showed us that this offering was different than the others. It reminds us and the Israelites that a healthy interaction with God doesn’t always focus on problems and sin. No matter what our circumstances, there is always a reason to rejoice–to celebrate with God, if simply because we can celebrate and interact with him.

What was your Bible bender of this part of Leviticus? Did you learn anything new?
