Exodus 2 and 3 bring us to the time in Moses’ life where God calls him out. Moses goes out to see his people and it brings out a passion in Moses that he cannot control. This new passion brings him unfortunately to murder but also brings Moses to leave Egypt and start anew in Midian. There is a bunch to learn from just these two chapters–listen with us!

HAYLEY’S BIBLE BENDER:

My Bible bender of this passage came from what Susan called the Wells and Wedding Pattern. The pattern goes like this:

  • A man travels to a foreign land
  • He meets a virtuous woman at the well
  • A discussion or courtship ensues
  • She takes him home to meet her family
  • And marriage is arranged.

While the theme is intriguing in itself, it also was a Bible bender that this theme is a sign that God is going to use this to teach us something in the New Testament.
