HAYLEY’S BIBLE BENDER:
My takeaway from this story was the focus on Miriam’s and Moses’ relationship. Although Miriam makes a mistake in desiring Moses’ power, Moses prays for forgiveness for his sibling that wronged him. Moses takes it one step further by having the camp wait for Miriam’s time outside camp to be completed before moving on. This is such a touching scene.
- She waited by the river for Moses to be picked up in the basket
- She arranged from Moses’ mother to be his nursemaid
- Moses waited 7 days for Miriam’s return to camp
- He arranged for the entire Israel camp to stay put until she was allowed home.
It was just a great example of reconciliation, turning the other cheek, and showing compassionate like Jesus.
