HAYLEY’S BIBLE BENDER:

My takeaway from these chapters came in Numbers 31, when the officers gave an extra offering to the lord. This extra gift points to the heart of the officers and the recognition that the war–won without their men’s bloodshed— was only by the grace and protection from God, not their hands. While it seems apparent to us when reading the story, it is easy to fall to the temptation of greed and pride in the moment of victory. True leadership is shown here with this extra sacrifice. When I have success in my life, do I go above my 10% tithe in recognition to God? Or do I revel in the glory of my name instead?
